Gareth Bale has been left hurt by the disgusting treatment he has received from Real Madrid supporters, his agent has exclusively told talkSPORT.The Welshman was booed at the Bernabeu on Saturday when he was substituted during the 1-0 defeat to bitter rivals Barcelona in El Clasico. In an extraordinary interview on the Sports Breakfast on Tuesday, Jonathan Barnett blamed the English and Spanish press for turning supporters against his star client. And, though Barnett insisted Bale still ‘loves’ playing for Real, he went on to warn that the 29-year-old may be forced to leave if the jeers continue.2

There are many things.“In England, we don’t look after our national heroes in the press at all, we only like to bring them down, and that doesn’t help as well.”Many have assumed the agents comments are an attempt to ramp up interest in the Welsh superstar ahead of the summer transfer window. But Barnett insists that couldnt be further from the truth.Thats an old fashioned thought, he added. Those days are gone. If Gareth wanted a move, he would tell me and I would tell Real Madrid and we would speak about it. I dont need to put anything in the papers to do that.Hes always wanted to stay at Real Madrid. Hes never said anything show me one comment where he said he wants to leave Real Madrid or that hes not happyHe doesnt need to do this at all [endure fan abuse], but he still loves his football, he loves Real Madrid and he wants to play. Its about whether he enjoys playing for Real Madrid, and he does in this moment."Plenty of clubs are watching him."Gareth Bale's agent Jonathan Barnett says the Welshman loves Real Madrid but had a warning for the Spanish giants. What do you make of this? pic.twitter.com/yATyZBBpge— talkSPORT (@talkSPORT) March 5, 2019Bale was named Player of the Tournament as Real were crowned FIFA Club World Cup champions for the fourth time in December, but the Welshman has experienced a lesser role in the team since then, making just four starts since the beginning of 2019.And Barnett admitted his client is not happy about his current lack of game time.He said: Lucas Vazquez is playing in his position, and he isnt happy about that. At the Club World Cup he was named player of the tournament, he scored a hat-trick and everything was great. But hes come back, hes got injured and he needs a run of games to get back to where he was, and he hasnt had that.Thats the biggest problem, at the moment. Thats more important than the fans. Whats upsetting him more than anything is that hes not in the team.Bale has four years left to run on his contract in Spain. Even though Barnett admits plenty of clubs have shown an interest, he says the winger has no plans to leave and even hopes to be handed a new deal to extend his stay in Madrid. Asked if he can give the likes of Tottenham, Man United and the list of suitors any hope of a possible move, the agent said: No.As we stand at the moment he will see out the rest of his contract, but hopefully hell get a new contract and play a bit longer. That would make the fans happy! If they put him on the field, he will produce the goods. If you put him in the team for 90 minutes that man would turn around the fortunes of any club in the world we still have plenty of clubs looking at him and wanting him.But thats what he needs more than anything – Real Madrid need to play around him, get him in the game more, and then youll see.
