This may jog the memories of one or two older readers but for those of you who weren’t around at that time, the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup was set up to promote international trade fairs through football.It was founded in 1955 and abolished in 1971 and in the final year of the competition, Liverpool came up against Bayern in the fourth round.
