The statistics show that football-related arrests in English and Welsh football throughout the 2017/18 season were down 6 per cent on the previous campaign, falling by 96 arrests to 1,542.This comes in at 3.5 football-related arrests per 100,000 attendees, with the most common offence resulting in an arrest public disorder (36 per cent), followed by violent disorder (20 per cent) and pitch incursion (12 per cent).Fewer arrests were made in the Premier League than in the Championship – which recorded a stunning 591 – but the top-flight was ahead of both League One and League Two. The top three clubs for football-related arrests were all Championship teams in 2017/18, helping to drive up the second division’s total; Birmingham City topped the entire ranking of English and Welsh clubs with 95 arrests, followed by Sheffield United (62) and Sunderland (60).The total number ofWest Ham fans arrested was not even close to matching these Championship clubs, but they top the Premier League rankings – which can be seen in full below…3 3*Data taken from gov.uk.
