He had made 28 appearances for Steven Gerrard’s side before cutting his loan short, and had been praised for putting in some impressive performances.However, Gerrard is now on the lookout for a new central midfielder, to replace Ejaria, and the Scottish Sun say he’s keen on Dowell, who plays for Liverpool’s fierce local rivals Everton.Dowell, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, has made five appearances for Everton, two of which came in the Carabao Cup this term. He was part of the England team that won the Under-20 World Cup last year, and Gerrard has admitted his admiration for the youngster.“I definitely admire him,” Gerrard said. “Hes an Under-21 international.
