Inter Milan are set to lower Mauro Icardis release clause in a new contract offer to the 26-year-old.The striker, who lost the Inter captaincy to long-serving goalkeeper Samir Handanovic earlier this month, has been linked with big money moves to Manchester United and Chelsea.2

Mauro Icardi’s Inter Milan future is in doubt

Icardi has a 110million release clause in his current deal, which runs until 2021, but Italian outlet La Repubblica claim clubs will need to spend 80million to activate a new buy-out clause if he signs fresh terms at the San Siro.Icardis last Inter appearance came in a 1-0 win over Parma on February 9. He was not included in the squad for the club’s Europa League last-32 victory against Rapid Vienna and has missed two Serie A games.2
