It would appear that the deal has now been completed, with White exclusively revealing on Hawksbee and Jacobs that Bassini is the new Bolton owner after speaking to the 49-year-old earlier in the day on Wednesday.He said: I took a call from Laurence Bassini who tells me the deal is done. He is the new owner of Bolton Wanderers.He says he has inherited a mess but will sort it out.

The British businessman, whose ill-fated spell in charge at Watford lasted only 13 months, joinedtalkSPORT host Jim White for a rare interview.Bassini has twice been declared bankrupt and was banned from owning an EFL club for three years in 2013 for alleged financial misconduct.He has since been cleared to return to football by the EFL, though.2
