“Having joined the EFL as CEO in October 2013, I am proud of what we have achieved since then, in what have not always been easy circumstances,” Harvey said in a statement.“After discussions with the board, we decided that the time is right for the EFL to now move in a different direction having concluded a number of commercial contracts that leave the league in a stable position.“I am happy to remain as CEO until after the play-offs, in order to conclude a number of outstanding matters that we are currently dealing with, after which I will move on to pastures new and hopefully make a positive difference elsewhere.”  Harvey, who took up the role of chief executive in October 2013, has worked for 25 consecutive years in professional football, all but two of which have been in the EFL with either clubs or the League itself.Interim EFL chair Debbie Jevans paid tribute to the work Harvey has done during his time in the job.“The EFL would like to thank Shaun for all he has delivered since joining as CEO,” she said. “The EFL is in a strong position with a growing fan base throughout the world and Shaun deserves a lot of credit for this.“Shaun and the board have agreed that the time is now right for a change of leadership and a new direction. We are pleased that Shaun has agreed to stay on until the end of the season.”

‘I will not take any lectures on football from Tottenham fans’ – Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan mocks Spurs for not winning the league in his lifetime
Piers Morgan has slammed Tottenham Hotspur fans for continually criticising Arsenal. The Gunners fan claimed he cant take any more of it in reference to continued condemnation from his north London rivals, using their lack of silverware in an attempt to silence the dissenting voices. The Arsenal fan is not happy with the constant criticism from Spurs fans3
The Arsenal fan is not happy with the constant criticism from Spurs fans
In recent years, the work of Mauricio Pochettino and the decline of Arsene Wenger has seen Spurs finish above their neighbours for the past two seasons. However, having already branded Pochettino overrated, Morgan believes only winning the Premier League can legitimise claims that north London is white.Apparently its all changed, now theyre world beaters. Really?! he asked Adrian Durham on Drivetime.Come back to me if you win the league in my lifetime Tottenham fans.Dele Alli has joined Harry Kane on the treatment table3
Dele Alli has joined Harry Kane on the treatment table
Seriously, I cant take any more of it, I really cant.Ill take it from United fans, Ill take it from City fans and if Liverpool deservedly win the league this year, Ill take it from them. But I will not take any lectures on football from Tottenham fans, given their team has not won the league in my lifetime. After being dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Chelsea on Thursday, the FA Cup surely represents Tottenhams best chance of winning silverware this season.Spurs crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night3
Spurs crashed out of the Carabao Cup on Thursday night
With injuries to Harry Kane and Dele Alli threatening to derail Spurs season, Morgan was more than happy to hammer home the point that another season without silverware merely strengthens his argument that Arsenal are still superior. He added: The thing about Tottenham is, like I always say to my dad, Tottenham havent won the league in my lifetime. Think about that.No-one looks at me and thinks Young guy right? “They think Middle-aged bloke, heading towards old age.Im fifty-four in March! But what they cant argue with is statistical fact. Tottenham have not won the league since I was born.

Arsenal transfer news: How Gunners could line-up with Ivan Perisic, Christopher Nkunku and Denis Suarez
Arsenal’s season is wobbling and their recent poor form continued on Friday night as they exited the FA Cup by losing to Manchester United. It’s now five losses in 10 games across all competitions with a patched up defence attempting to get the Gunners through their tough time.Arsenal manager Unai Emery4
Arsenal manager Unai Emery
But now it seems manager Unai Emery is set to enter the transfer market to try and get things right at the Emirates.Rather than spend defensively, though, the Spaniard looks likely to sign a winger and a versatile midfielder, according to the latest reports.Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic has handed in a transfer request and could now join the Gunners as they look to arrange a loan-to-buy deal, which could eventually be worth 35million.Meanwhile, a loan move for Denis Suarez or Christopher Nkunku might also happen to add depth in key areas for the top six side, who could miss out on Champions League qualification for the second consecutive season. But what would an Arsenal team look like with Perisic and one of Suarez or Nkunku? Find out below.

Goalkeeper

Unless current no.1 Bernd Leno experiences a severe dip in form it’s unlikely anyone other than the German will be occupying the space between the sticks for the long-term.Petr Cech will remain his deputy, playing in cup matches, while a successor to the veteran, when he retires at the end of the season is unlikely to come until the summer.

Defence

Hector Bellerin’s huge injury blow came at the worst time for Emery as he attempts to sort out his leaky backline.Laurent Koscielny may be back and Sokratis Papastathopoulos may have been added in the summer but it’s an area which needs significant improvement when you compare it to the rest of the top six.For the time being the right-back role will be going to either Ainsley Maitland-Niles or veteran Switzerland star Stephan Lichtsteiner, while, when fit, Koscielny and Sokratis, will be the first-choice backline until Rob Holding returns. At left-back, Nacho Monreal will start but this also depends on his fitness.Arsenal transfer targets Denis Suarez, Ivan Perisic, and Christopher Nkunku.4
Arsenal transfer targets Denis Suarez, Ivan Perisic, and Christopher Nkunku.

Midfield

It’s likely, given his previous managerial tendencies, Emery will want to get his 4-3-3 on the go, even if this does stifle the career of some of the club’s big name players. We’ve already seen he isn’t afraid to chop and change for tactical reasons, with Mesut Ozil frequently being left out.Granit Xhaka, for the time being, looks like being he short-passing midfielder anchor who safer keeps play ticking along, while summer signing Lucas Torreira will continue to the right of him. It’s on the left side we’re will see either Christopher Nkunku or Denis Suarez fit in, more advanced than the other central midfielders, their role will be to shuttle the ball forward with their dribbling skills, while then using the vision they both possess to pick the correct pass in the final third.Arsenal paid more than 57m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he’s been a hit4
Arsenal paid more than 57m for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and he’s been a hit

Attack

Down the middle, it’s unlikely Alexandre Lacazette will get above Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the pecking order while we could also see Alex Iwobi out on the right wing. This would allow potential new boy Perisic to take up his usual role on the left.We could potentially see Lacazette through the middle and Aubameyang towards the right but this could harm the goal scoring of Aubameyang.Meanwhile, another option might be to play Perisic and Aubameyang as two wider forwards with Iwobi just tucked behind them as a No.10.Is this how Arsenal could line-up with their possible new signings?4

Sterling later issued a statement on social media in which he highlighted the influence he believes the media have on fuelling racism and compared two articles to support his case. The incident has caused a huge debate, being described as a watershed moment in football and Maitland-Niles, speaking ahead of his side’s clash Qarabag FK tomorrow, shared his own experiences of racism. He explained: “Yes, I have (been racially abused). Not at a professional level but growing up in the youth ranks I have.“It was pretty much similar to what Raheem got to be honest.“I literally went out to pick up the ball for a throw-in and there was a bit of racial abuse behind me.Raheem Sterling was allegedly racially abused on Saturday3

“What can I do? I just got on with the game, as he did. It hurts. It hurts me to talk about it.“I think it’s disgusting, honestly. I really do credit Raheem for coming out and standing up for himself and other players and speaking about it.“But, I just think that if a lot of football clubs and some of the players too can join forces to really put our heads to it and try to kick it out, it would be the best thing possible.”When asked if Sterling going public could be turning point in eradicating racism, the 21-year-old responded: “I hope so. I really do hope so.“Raheem is a good, brave lad for doing it and I just hope that more people put their ear towards him and have some sympathy for him, because it’s not the first time it’s happened and we just want it to be the last. The Arsenal youngster said Sterling was ‘brave’3

Maitland-Niles says his dad was his support network when he suffered the abuse – and admitted it “hurts” to relive the incident. He commented: “It hurts to think about it. But I think that’s why it’s so important that we need to get rid of it from the game.“It’s not just footballers who need to be on board with it. It’s everyone else: the press, the media and the staff as well.“At the time, I just spoke to my dad about it and he did sort of give me the heads up and showed me a few things about racism before my time, when I was playing football, just as there still is in the game now.”
