While it’s unclear who is behind the vile taunts, one supporter was heard to shout: “Salah you f***ing Muslim, f***ing Muslim c***. F*** off.”West Ham have launched an investigation and promise to issue a lifetime ban to the person responsible.A spokesperson said: At West Ham United, we have a zero tolerance policy to any form of violent or abusive behaviour. “We are an inclusive football club. Regardless of age, race, religion or belief, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy or maternity, sex, sexual orientation, gender reassignment or disability, everyone is warmly welcomed at London Stadium.“Anyone identified committing an offence will have their details passed to the police and will face a lifetime ban from London Stadium.“There is no place for this kind of behaviour at our stadium.2

It is the latest in a string of racist incidents which have shamed English football this season.Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling suffered alleged racial abuse during a similar incident at Stamford Bridge in December, while a Tottenham fan was banned for life after throwing a banana skin at Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the north London derby.And just last month, a police investigation was launched against Millwall for racist chants aimed at Everton fans.
