One stumbling block could be Bales exorbitant wages, which are believed to be in excess of 600,000-a-week.Gaffney added: I dont think anyone can question Bales ability. I know there are question marks around his fitness, which I dont think are justified especially not this season as it has been his best season in terms of game return in the last three years.Obviously hes not translated that into form on the pitch. It does present a huge problem. You have Harry Kane, who is on 200k plus bonuses per week, and you are asking Gareth Bale to come in who is going to dwarf that.It doesnt add up on the financial side for Spurs right now unless Real Madrid are going to contribute a lot more to that wage.
